ARE YOU ASHAMED OF YOUR POOR ENGLISH?
Well, you shouldN'T be! It's NOT your fault!
...And you are not alone. THERE ARE SO MANY FILIPINOS, KOREANS, JAPANESE, CHINESE, EUROPEANS, LATINOS and others who are in the same situation.
You may think this is funny but for concerned linguists and language professors, this is actually a serious problem. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR GRAMMAR, ACCENT and PRONUNCIATION, it could mean that your English teachers in the past did not make an effort to correct your mistakes.
Based on my research, many English teachers in the Philippines are NOT very fluent in English and make occasional mistakes themselves. Some of them even have difficulty in pronouncing :

SO DON'T BLAME YOURSELF IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH LIKE JANINA SAN MIGUEL or MANNY PACQUIAO. THE TRADITIONAL METHODS OF TEACHING A LANGUAGE IS THE PROBLEM!
LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS A NEW HABIT TO FORM and you have to ALWAYS use it if you really want it to be PERMANENT.
The Problem is, many language teachers in school fail to point this out and they don't make an effort to motivate their students to use it as often as they can. LANGUAGE IS UBIQUITOUS, you use it everyday and everywhere which is why there are so many opportunities to practice what you have learned and learn more.
Our training, thus, also involves IMMERSING ONESELF in the target language, most especially in CYBERSPACE / Internet where almost everything is possible.

To each his own. Each individual is different and it's the same vis-a-vis someone's proficiency in English or any foreign language.
Thus, we personalize and tailor-fit our materials for the individual even in group classes. Each trainee has his/her own INDIVIDUAL FILE with facebook-like (user-friendly) template that can also be modified by the trainee.
There are also some slight variations of particular language. For instance, English can be spoken in slightly varying accents depending on where the native speaker is from. For example, Daniel Radcliffe, David Beckham and Hugh Jackman speaks English slightly different from the way Kobe Bryant and other black Americans speak English.
THE MULTIMEDIA METHOD versus THE DIRECT METHOD
Unlike in most foreign language schools and institutions such as Berlitz, we let the student CHOOSE whether s/he would like to use his/her native language to be used or not.
The DIRECT METHOD totally prohobits the use of the learner's native language. Consequently, it's a lot easier for the teachers because they don't have to translate anything but it's harder for the students because there are so many words and phrases that cannot be depicted, illustrated nor shown through gestures and the students have to consult the dictionary to make sure that their 'GUESSES' are correct.
I myself, experienced the DIRECT METHOD and there were so many instances when I had to guess what the teacher meant by a certain foreign phrase and spent so much time doing so when she could have just translated it. After all, the student who's learning a second or new language would always tend to translate it to his first language and may risk making 'incorrect guesses' when the direct method is used.
With the MULTIMEDIA METHOD, we recommend the usage of the learner's native language at the basic level and the earlier stage of learning to translate words that cannot be illustrated or explained through gestures. In other words, there is minimal translation but we make sure that the students understand and learn everything that is taught before we stop translating.
More importantly, we also recognize the IMPORTANCE of the skills in TRANSLATION and INTERPRETATION dmainly due to the *not-so-well-known fact that translators and interpreters are very, very well-paid and such careers could be a source of a very big income for bilinguals and multilinguals.
Most people do not know this. I myself, for instance, only learned about this 2 years after I graduated when I got hired by an European couple to be their interpreter. I always earn more than double as much as a regular employee every time I work as a translator and interpreter thanks to my textbooks and CD-ROMs that DID NOT USE the direct method.
Most foreign language institutions that require the exclusive use of the foreign language ignore these very, very useful and profitable linguistic skills. I didn't work as a full-time translator and interpreter before because I was already happy working for call centers as a bilingual/ multilingual CSR where I got paid almost thrice as much as (and more than thrice in my most previous job) English-speaking CSRs.
Nonetheless, if the student prefers the DIRECT METHOD, then we can also use it especially for him/her.
TO EACH HIS OWN, and with the Multimedia Method, we aim to tailor-fit and personalize the teaching materials and methods to suit all kinds of individuals by letting them decide HOW they want the courses to be conducted.

Aside from textbooks, you will also use inter-active CD-ROMS with audio and video samples by different native speakers using English in realistic situations. Thus, you will not only get used with your trainer's voice, pitch and speech patterns but also with other native speakers.'
For instance, with the multimedia method, you'll EXPERIENCE English in action and learn how to use it like a native speaker just like David Letterman and Britney Spears below as opposed to simulated and not-so-authentic conversations commonly found in textbooks.
TOPIC: More common variations of 'How are you?'
Notice that 'How are you doing?' which is another way to say 'How are you?' is shortened to 'How ya doin'?'. This is VERY COMMON in colloquial English and you have to be prepared to hear this because they say this very often. Needless to say, you can also say it like they do.

Learning a new language requires memorization of new words, phrases and grammatical rules which can sometimes be tedious and boring.
But with the MULTIMEDIA METHOD, you'll MEMORIZE foreign words more effectively because you will EXPERIENCE USING IT right away while having FUN! You will re-enact the dialogues using your personal information instead of the Japanese cast's/characters'.
A highly effective feature of the multimedia method is the AUDIO or VIDEO RECORDING PORTION which is an integral part of each session. Here, you can opt to re-enact the dialogues using your personal information instead of the the cast's/characters'. You can OPT* to be recorded on video so you'll be able to compare the ORIGINAL VERSION with your 'personalized version'. The trainer may also use the screen caps, i.e. images from the video, to create a COMIC STRIP (manga style). All the files will be shared to you through USB transfer. Now wouldn't that be exciting?
*VIDEO-RECORDING of dialogues is optional. For shy people, we can just record their voices and they can just 'DUB' the videos with their voices.
In the SIMULATION below, a virtual character named STEVE will talk to YOU. My Mexican friend MIGUEL, whose English is NOT YET perfect but pretty good according to him, replied to virtual Steve using the headset with microphone.

Re-enacting realistic dialogues (shown in video and not just audio) is one of the best ways to learn a language by heart. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT IN ACTION ~ see it, hear it, smell it, taste it and feel it!
This is why the terms 'TRAINING,' 'trainees' and 'trainer' are used because you don't just 'repeat after the teacher, ' you also 'LIVE it' ~ you use all your senses in experiencing the language. Aside from reenacting dialogues, you will also be trained to create your own in order to learn how to manipulate words and phrases just like a native speaker.
The trainer will bring samples authentic cuisine (eaten by NS of the TL) so the trainees will truly 'experience the smell and taste of the language' and may bring native speakers (NS) in the classroom so as to truly immerse the trainee in the TL.
~ CUT! Take two!
The trainer will make sure the trainee learn the correct pronunciation and accent before being recorded and can also repeat the recording until s/he gets it right.
An optional but highly recommended part of the MULTIMEDIA METHOD is the quick recording session towards the end of class. All the essential data learned will be recorded in either audio or video form (it's up to the trainee which one s/he prefers) and will be shared through USB together with the original AUDIO/VIDEO file mimicked, i.e. the native speaker's pronunciation and accent compared to each trainees.
In this way, the trainees can also listen or/and watch the files even beyond classroom hours.
With the multimedia method, the language materials are 'personalized' in accordance to each trainee's interests. Before the training starts, the trainees will be asked what their fields of interests are and their reasons for learning the preferred language so as to enable the trainer to prepare materials that will stimulate the interests of the students as well as motivate them to use whatever they have learned as often as they can.
Aside from the LANGUAGE MATERIALS which consist of text sheets and worksheets, the trainees will also receive the following:
1. PERSONAL FILE FORM in the target language (in a user-friendly format [facebook/myspace/friendster format]
2. A CUTE CALENDAR & CLOCK in the TL (target language) that will immerse the trainee right away in the TL and motivate him/her to learn all the days of the week, months of the year, numbers, seasons, time expressions etc.
3. A PROGRESS TRACKER - to track everything that has been accomplished - all the essential words, phrases and grammatical rules
Multimedia files such as audio files (i.e. mp3, wav etc), video files, games, softwares will also be shared through USB.
